2.5D Platformer

Narrative:   

     One day, the once peaceful village of [villageName TBA] gets attacked by [villainess TBA] who with the help of her goons steals the 6 Guardian Flowers, which act as reservoirs for Nature’s power. [villainess TBA] spreads the Flowers far and wide, looking to sap the power from areas life power. With Nature’s power quickly draining, the Sacred Sages choose you to be the hero and to reclaim the Guardian Flowers from the grasp of evil.

Aesthetics/Style/Mood:

    We are making a relaxing, easy-going adventure in a vibrant world constructed from arts & crafts materials! Our aesthetics, style, and mood are inspired by works such as Yoshi’s Crafted World, the Paper Mario series (Sticker Star, Color Splash, Origami King), and the Kirby series (Kirby 64, Kirby’s Epic Yarn). Below is our initial proof of concept using a level from Yoshi’s Crafted World as a backdrop; in addition, we have included screenshots of our early prototype (using only assets that we as a team have created). Gameplay/Mechanics:

The core gameplay loop will see the player explore interconnected levels/worlds as they fight of the Villainess' root of corruption and regain the land from her grasps.
